Wheel Balancing
It is worth having your wheels balanced so you will experience a longer and more comfortable ride.
Wheels that are not in balance generally cause a vibration throughout the steering and especially as speed increased. If you vehicle has this symptom it’s important that you speak with the team at Darra Tyres. Not only will the vibration cause an uncomfortable driving experience but it could be something more sinister and therefore must be addressed as soon as possible.
Rear wheel balancing may not be noticed through a vibration as much as a front wheel because it is directly attached to steering but it is no less important.
Leaving your wheels out of balance will decrease the useful life of the tyre and cause uneven wear.
In most case balancing a wheel is no more than a 5-minute job for a passenger tyre, although as you move up in size the balancing can take longer as the wheel must be removed.
The actual process of balancing a wheel is as simple as placing the wheel and tyre on the machine which spins the wheel and a computer analysis’s where weights need to be placed around the wheel. This may be placed on either side of the wheel.
