Tractor Tyres

Is your tractor stuck in the mud? Get the traction you need to move forward here…

Due to our diverse landscape, you and your tractors are constantly being faced with a range of different and demanding working conditions. So it is vital to your business, its profitability and employee safety that your tractors have the correct tyres for the job at hand.

Whether you are using backhoes, harvesters, cultivators, sprayers or tractors each piece of your agricultural machinery must have the correct tyres for their individual working environment, terrain and application.

Whether you are ploughing, planting, on the road or doing general maintenance around our property it is vital that you have the correct tyres for each individual working environment, terrain and application.

How do I know what tyre is right for my tractor?

It is extremely important for the tyres to match the load of the machine, the load rating is written on the side of the tyre wall and should not be exceeded.

Overloading a tyre has the same effect as an under inflated tyre. Both of these will cause cracking, chaffing and possible bursts in the tyre wall. A burst tyre on a tractor carrying a big load can be tragic. It will cause the tractor to roll, lose the load, damage the machine and injure the driver. Too often we hear of injury or loss of life in machinery related accidents.

The correct tyre for your tractor will also greatly depend on:

  • • Hours of use per year
  • • Type of use,
  • • Machine age/type
  • • Surface type
  • • Application

All of these factors will determine which tyre is most appropriate for you.

Why is the right tyre so important?

All vehicles and machinery need the right tyre to make the job easier, make minimal impact to the ground and decrease slippage. Slippage is caused when the tyre doesn’t have the right tread for surface it’s being used on, slippage will increase work time and wear on the machine and its tyres.

Local farmer Ian Stevenson has been coming back for tyres for years after we helped him get the most out of his tractors and agricultural machinery. After being a farmer for more than 20 years Ian knows, just like you, the importance of getting the job done on time. Downtime due to tyre repairs and maintenance can be extremely costly. With so many variables working on the land the last thing you want to worry about is the tyres on your vehicles.

Ian has since learnt from our team of professionals the importance of the correct tyre for certain applications, applicable load ratings and the correct tyre pressures for his tractors and other agricultural machinery.

With over 30 years of experience we are ready to help make life on the land easier, safer and more affordable for you and your business.
