0 Darra Tyres News: Allan Williams is our new Business Development Manager

We’re happy to announce that we’ve hired Allan Williams a long time industry expert to progress the Business Development arm of Darra Tyres and oversee the management of the Darra office. Allan is well know in the industry have working in and around West Brisbane and Ipswich for that past 25 years. Prior to this role Allan run a business called Precision Tyre Regrooving based in Ipswich and which has now become part of the group.

So stay tuned for lots of changes as we expand west into Ipswich and Lockyer Valley in the next few months.

0 Hankook Tyres Australia take us up in the Traffic News chopper

Hey guys,

Thanks to our friends at Hankook Tyres we were invited to go up in the morning traffic news helicopter. Despite having to get up early Annette Wood and Nathan Pepper enjoyed the flight around Brisbane searching out traffic and potential accidents to report on.

Poorly inflated tyres, bald spots or low tread levels are a major contributor to accidents as they increase braking distance especially in the wet.

0 Ensuring Quality Tyres, Inspecting truck tyres for abnormal wear.

Hey guys,

Kevin inspects truck tyres for abnormal wear. The truck in the video is actually a new truck that has come in after 500kms for its first settling in check up. These tyres are straight from the manufacturer and already are showing signs of abnormal wear. Luckily its been caught soon enough that not much damage is done. Even high quality tyres should be inspected routinely to ensure they are now wearing abnormally due to an incorrect fitting.

Darra Tyres recommends that you check your tyre pressure weekly, especially if your using the vehicle for commercial purposes. Passenger vehicles should be checked weekly but realistically monthly is acceptable, however the concern is that most people never check until its too late.

0 Brisbane tyres blow out, what caused these tyres to blow out!

Kevin Wood owner of Darra Tyres explains why a tyre has blown out.

Proper inflation of tyres is so important to safely and keeping your tyres on the road longer. Most consumers don’t check their tyres at all but we suggest that at least every month.

For commercial you should be checking at least every week. A good habit to get into is to check them as you fill up with petrol.
